Recently, it was learned from CRRC Tangshan that all permanent magnet electric drive diesel locomotives independently developed by the company have completed all type tests and passed the acceptance test and will be put into use. The diesel locomotive has broken through a number of key technologies and has completely independent intellectual property rights, exploring more options for China's railway equipment to go global.

Due to its small size, light weight, low output torque, high efficiency, and simple maintenance, the permanent magnet system is recognized by the industry as a preferred solution for future rail transit traction systems.

Chen Liang, deputy general manager and chief engineer of CZ Tangshan Company, said: "This permanent magnet electric drive diesel locomotive uses permanent magnet traction motor and permanent magnet main generator, and the traditional traction system composed of excitation generator and asynchronous traction motor. Compared with the traction system, the transmission efficiency is increased by 5%-8%, and the noise is reduced by about 7 decibels."

On the power system of the permanent magnet electric drive diesel locomotive, CRRC Tang used the 560KW horizontal hoisting high power power package independently developed by the company. According to Chen Liang, this power pack adopts advanced single-bearing permanent magnet generator technology, which has large power, small size and high integration. It realizes modular design, modular installation and modular maintenance of locomotive power system.

In addition, this type of locomotive adopts a modular structure body, which simplifies the interface of large components and improves the economy and maintenance efficiency of locomotive operation and maintenance. The diesel engine cooling system of the locomotive adopts the variable frequency control overhead cooler. Compared with the traditional internal combustion power system, it not only saves space, reduces weight, but also greatly improves system efficiency. (Yang Fan)
